Download Songs with iPad

The iPad is a hybrid of the iPod and the laptop computer. It offers such features as Wi-Fi connection, web browsing, word processing, email, and a wide range of applications. One of the key features of the iPad is the ability to store and listen to music in an easy, streamlined format. To get the very best use out of the iPad it is important to know how to download songs onto an iPad.

Anyone who owns an iPad and has access to a Wi-Fi connection or a computer can download music onto their iPad. The iPad is highly user friendly and offers a simple interface and connection method which allows iPad owners to connect, purchase, download, and begin playing music within a matter of minutes. There are two methods of downloading music to an iPad, by purchasing music from the iTunes Store directly onto the iPad and by syncing up the iPad with a computer and importing the computer's music into the iPad. Either of these options are simple, straightforward, and available to the average iPad user. Purchasing music from the iTunes store directly onto the iPad requires a Wi-Fi connection while syncing music between a computer and an iPad requires a USB cable.

The iPad has many unique features but downloading and listening to music is one of the key ones. The iPad uses iTunes software to purchase, categorize, and play all audio files, even audiobooks and podcasts. You can purchase and download music using iTunes directly to your iPad or you can connect your iPad to your computer and sync your music files between them to take with you on the go.

Apple's iTunes, which is used for both purchasing music, playing music, and syncing files between the iPad and the computer, offers a huge selection of music, television shows, movies, and more. It offers over 11 million high-quality songs alone, all of which can be previewed and purchased on the iPad.http://www.apple.com/itunes/what-is/2 The iPad comes preloaded with iTunes and you can begin using the iTunes store immediately. Along with music and videos you can use iTunes to purchase applications for your iPad in the iTunes Apps store.http://www.apple.com/itunes/whats-on/3 All that is required to use iTunes on your iPad is an internet connection and an iTunes Store account. Once you are set up with an account, logged in, and connected to the internet you can begin browsing music, picking out songs that you want, downloading songs to your iPad, and syncing your iPad with your home desktop or laptop computer.

One way to download music onto your iPad is to purchase it from the iTunes store directly from your iPad. If your iPad is connected to the internet you will able able to open the iTunes Store and use it just as you would on a computer. Simply browse the store, purchase your song, wait for it to download, and you will be ready to start listening to music on your iPad.

The first step in downloading music from iTunes onto your iPad is to have an internet connection. The iPad has Wi-Fi capability. This means that you can connect to the internet using any open Wi-Fi connection, be it your home internet or Wi-Fi at a bookstore or cafe. This allows you to wirelessly connect to the internet from just about anywhere in the world where Wi-Fi is available.

The iPad will automatically connect to a Wi-Fi network whenever you open an application which requires an internet connection, such as Mail or the iTunes Store. To set up your Wi-Fi connection go to Settings and then to Wi-Fi. From there turn Wi-Fi on. In the Wi-Fi section you will be able to view the Wi-Fi networks in your area and choose which one to use. Simply select the network you wish to use and, if you successfully connect, your iPad will use this network automatically. If that network is not available in the future your iPad will connect to the next open Wi-Fi network. Some Wi-Fi connections require a password. These connections will have a lock symbol next to them. A successful Wi-Fi connection will show up in the status bar at the top of the screen. The more bars you have the stronger the connection.

Now that your iPad is connected to the internet you can begin downloading music. Go into iTunes and find the song that you are interested in. You can browse in iTunes by genre, artist, etc. as well as search for specific songs. Once you have found a song that you want simply tap the price and then tap Buy. If you are not already logged in you will need to do so now. Accept the purchase and your account will be charged. Your song will begin downloading and you will be able to listen to it as soon as it is ready. You can purchase songs separately or buy whole albums at a time. All of your songs will show up in your iTunes library and can be played, ranked, and sorted from there.

Another way to get music onto your iPad is to sync it with your home computer. When you sync your iPad with a computer you will be able to bring the computer's data onto your iPad. This includes music. Syncing must be done through iTunes and, once your iPad and computer are synced, you can listen to all of your computer's music on your iPad. You can also bring music that you purchased on your iPad onto your computer through syncing.

To sync your iPad with your computer you simply need to connect the iPad to the computer using the USB cable which came with your iPad. Plug the larger end into the bottom of our iPad and plug the USB end into any open USB port on your computer. The iTunes software should open automatically when you first plug the iPad in.

In iTunes select your iPad device under Devices on the left-hand side of the screen. Now it is time to set up your syncing. Here you will find tabs used to change your iPad's settings. Go through the tabs and click which files you would like to sync. The Music tab is the tab specifically used for syncing music files between your computer and your iPad so be sure to check the settings on that tab. Once you have finished click Apply and you will begin syncing for the first time. You will need to choose between merge data or replace data for the iPad or for the computer. Merging data mingles different data between the computer and the iPad while replacing data will permanently override data on either the iPad or on the computer, depending on your choice. Whichever setting you choose now will be used for each future syncing session unless you change the setting manually at a later date. Now your iPad will sync with your computer and, once done, you will be able to listen to your music on your iPad. To put new music from your computer onto your iPad simply plug your iPad in and allow it to automatically sync up.
